Newton is a joint venture between London Business School and Phoenix Court (LocalGlobe VC), with founding partner HSBC Innovation Banking. With our unique blend of faculty and practitioner teaching, we are training the investors of tomorrow to back the ventures of the future. 

Our Program Partners span the VC ecosystem and contribute to the program as speakers, mentors, and advisors. These include Index Ventures, LocalGlobe, A16z, Seedcamp and more.

The Newton Fellowship is based at London Business School, with on-site visits to offices of partners in the ecosystem.

Newton Fellows gain the knowledge, skills and connections that help them succeed in the venture ecosystem.

As Fellows, they:

- Accelerate their understanding of key technical concepts by learning from top-tier faculty and delving into industry insights from top-decile practitioners. They also build critical skills including negotiation, portfolio construction and fundraising, as well as grow in their personal leadership.

- Meet more than 30 other practising professionals from the venture ecosystem who they can learn with and from, strengthening their peer network. To enhance cross-cohort networking, the final module is designed to overlap with the first module of the next cohort. This provides a unique opportunity to meet the incoming Newton Fellows.

- Get access to VC-related tools and frameworks to support their growth, and invitations to conferences and networking events.

As Newton Alumni, they continue to:

- Develop and grow connections with peers from around the world, both online as well as in-person, locally.

- Form part of an ever-growing global group of venture professionals with backgrounds across VC, tech, academia and finance.

Our third flagship Fellowship Program will take place in-person in London over the following dates:

Module 1: 24 April - 26 April 2024

Module 2: 17 July - 19 July 2023

Module 3: 16 October - 18 October 2024

The three modules are intensive and full-time, so we do expect the Fellows to to be fully committed to the program. The days are long to maximise time together and the value we can add with additional opportunities to meet key players within the ecossytem.

To support your employee with their learning and development, we encourage granting them study leave and supporting them so they can fully concentrate. Read about their expected commitment in our T&Cs.

There will also be virtual learning, coaching, exercises and networking opportunities in between the three teaching modules, often an hour-long, and these dates will be provided in advance.

We use Applied to run a blind recruitment process. Blind recruitment means removing all factors that may affect bias such as name, gender, age, education and work experience. Instead, applicants are required to answer three questions that access the skills and attributes the individual can bring - such as motivation, grit, and their ability to overcome challenges. This helps us to assess that they are right for the Fellowship - and Fellowship is right for them.

Shortlisted applicants then attend a 30-minute interview and if successful, they’re then offered a placeon the program.

The application is open for approximately 8-9 weeks (subject to change) and the applicant can save and return to their application at any time.

£9,950 plus VAT.

Your employee must have applied to the program. Should they be successful, your employee can download a sponsorship letter confirming their acceptance to the Newton Fellowship Program to pass onto you. Your employee can provide us with the details as to whom to invoice and we will send that on. Please let us know if you can’t process payment before the deadline due to company restrictions. In certain situations, we can accept a purchase order as a commitment to payment.
