Applications

At Newton, we use Applied to run a blind hiring process. This helps reduce unconscious bias and ensures candidates are assessed on ability and motivation alongside key values, rather than their previous experience and education.

To ensure a fair process for all, we don’t accept applications once the deadline has passed.

Newton Fundamentals

Newton Fundamentals

Currently, we run two Fundamentals cohorts per year. The first cohort usually runs between mid-March and mid-May, and the second cohort usually runs from end-September to end-November

Applications open approximately three months before the program start date. At the point of applications opening, all the key dates and timings for the cohort are released.

The application is held on Applied and involves answering three written questions that help us determine whether you’re the right fit for our program - and if we’re the right fit for you. All answers are shared anonymously with the reviewing team; we don’t ask for CVs, and we don’t ask for a list of job and educational experience.

Applications are open for up to 5 weeks and we alert all candidates whether they were successful or not within a week of applications closing. During the application process, there is a virtual Q+A session to delve into greater detail about the program and answer any questions not covered in our FAQs.

All dates and timings are subject to change, including application cycles so always check the key dates and timings before applying.

Newton Fellowship

Newton Fellowship

As of 2024, we are running two Fellowship cohorts annually.

The three day in-person modules for the first cohort take place in April, June or July and October. Modules for the second cohort take place in October, January, and April.

Hear from our Alumni

“I went into investing with a very specific idea of how things should be done. Newton helped me to understand there’s no right or one way to do this."

"The content was great and the team was very helpful, but the best part is the people. I’m new to the country and the VC community: Newton helped me meet people I maybe wouldn’t have otherwise."

"I’d just had a baby and decided to make the UK my base. I hadn’t had the opportunity to network so coming across Newton was a blessing, a massive blessing."

Financial Support

We don’t want cost to be a barrier to anyone, so if a program fee is unaffordable, we have some ways that you can access financial support

Employee Sponsorship

Put your learning and training budget to good use!

We’ve found that our learners can often get some or all of their program fees paid for through their employer's learning and development (L&D) budget.

If you want to pay for the program through your L&D budget, we can support with documents to help your employer understand the value proposition.

Even if your employer can’t pay the full amount, you can use some of your L&D budget towards the overall cost.

Scholarships

Apply for a scholarship covering from 25% of the program fee

If cost is a barrier, partial scholarships are available. The level of support is dependent on your level of need and is assessed through a separate application.

As advised by charitable sector experts, we prioritise scholarships for candidates where the program cost poses a significant financial burden to them and / or their dependents. We aim to support as many learners as possible that need financial support, so please carefully consider your need before requesting a scholarship.

Scholarship applications are separate to the program application, so you must complete both!
